International Programs

The International Programs at Blackfriars are based on the Australian Curriculum and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). The SACE is internationally recognised and accepted for entry to all Australian universities and in many other countries, including the USA, UK and Canada.

Students at Blackfriars explore and excel in their natural strengths, build confidence to apply themselves to more challenging subject areas, co-construct learning and lay the foundations for lifelong learning and achievement.

Boys’ education specialists

Teaching staff at Blackfriars are employed based on their achievements, qualifications and educational philosophies; in particular for their ability to convert curriculum into an engaging and inspiring experience specifically for boys and young men. They combine years of experience with contemporary teaching methodologies, up-to-date research and recent technologies to make learning enjoyable and purposeful.

We encourage all students to aspire to positions of leadership among their peers.

Pathways

Since 1953, Blackfriars’ graduates have been successful in entering a broad range of tertiary courses. Completion of the SACE is a pre-requisite for entry to university, as well as a number of other post-secondary school options.

The success of Blackfriars educational programs is reflected in our end of year results – 90% of our international and local students are directly accepted into local and overseas universities. The foundation laid at Blackfriars makes for an easy transition to tertiary study, with graduates pursuing a diverse range of undergraduate courses including Medicine, Science, Engineering, Law, Pharmacy, Business, Commerce, Finance and Marketing.

Mode of Delivery

Blackfriars does not deliver programs exclusively by online or distance learning to international students. The school can provide online or distance learning in addition to the minimum face-to-face teaching requirements approved by the relevant designated state authority or ESOS agency as part of the school’s registration.
